General visitor information
Opening hours
- Outdoor area: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., last entry at 5:30 p.m.
- Greenhouses: 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., last entry at 5 p.m.
The Botanical Garden opens every day, except on 24th and 31st December.
Entrances
- Main entrance, Menzinger Street 65, 80638 München
- South gate is closed (no access via Maria Ward Street or Palace Park).
We recommend using public transport for easy
access to the Botanical Garden. Some parking spaces
are available opposite the main entrance. Bicycles may be parked on the signposted car park of the Botanical Institute.
Most of the Garden area is suitable for wheelchairs.
Three disabled car parking spaces are provided in front of the main building of the Botanical Institute (Menzinger St. 67).

Admission charges
Ukraine refugees have free entry until 30th June 2022. The Ukrainian passport serves as proof. Українські біженці мають вільний в’їзд до 30 червня 2022 року, підтвердженням є український паспорт.

Price on site: € 5.50, concessions € 4

Annual tickets
Price on site: € 48, concessions € 32
Vouchers for annual tickets can only be ordered in writing from the garden administration (bgmsnsb.de).
Please note the lead time of about one week. We will send you the invoice and voucher by mail.

Concessions
- Students if not free admission (students of biology, earth and environmental sciences, chemistry and physics at universities and other higher education institutions) as well as course participants of the Goethe Institute upon presentation of appropriate identification (e.g. German or international student ID)
- Seniors: People over the age of 65 (against identity card)
- Severely disabled (against ID)
- Association members of Biologie, Biowissenschaften und Biomedizin in Deutschland e.V. - VBIO
- Volunteers, helpers
Free admission for children and young people under 18 years
- Children under 12 are free. They are only allowed to visit the garden when accompanied by a adult.
- Young people under 18 are free. For special exhibitions and special events, the reduced admission price must be paid.
Guided tours
Guided tours are available in German every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at 10 am. Duration: approx. 1 hour. For those guided tours listed under events only the usual admission charges apply (no additional fee).
Guided tours for groups
External guided tours for groups (max. 20 people) are possible.
Guided tours for groups, e.g. special theme tours may be arranged
