Access via Maria-Ward-Str. or through the Nymphenburg palace gardens.
We recommend using public transport for easy access to the Botanical Garden. Some parking spaces are available opposite the main entrance. Bicycles may be parked close to the entrance gates.
Most of the Garden area is suitable for wheelchairs. Two disabled car parking spaces are provided in front of the main building of the Bavarian Botanical Institute (Botanische Institute, Menzinger Str. 67).
Opening hours
The Botanical Garden opens every day, except on 24th and 31st December.

In the evening the south gate (opposite the access to the Nymphenburg palace gardens) closes quarter of an hour earlier than the main entrance. For special evening opening hours please refer to our events section.
Admission charges
Access to the garden area is free until spring 2011.
All admission charges may change during special exhibitions or special events.

- Adults: Day tickets € 4, concessions € 2.50
- Parties of 15 people or more as well as appropriate ID card holders and young people under 18 are eligible for concessionary tickets for special exhibitions and special events.
- Season tickets: Regular € 35, concessions € 20
Season tickets are available at the main ticket office; during wintertime at the ticket office of the glasshouse complex. - Alpine garden on the Schachen: € 2
Open from June to September, depending on weather conditions.
Free admission for children and young people under 18. During special exhibitions and special events different rules apply. At these times children under 12 are free and young people under 18 are admitted at a reduced rate.
Guided tours
Guided tours are available in German every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. Meet at 10 am in front of the glasshouse complex. Duration: approx. 1 hour. For those guided tours listed under events only the usual admission charges apply (no additional fee).
Guided tours for groups
Guided tours for groups, e.g. special birthday party tours for children or on rare occasions also for school classes, as well as special theme tours may be arranged for a fee.
Tours of the alpine garden
Guided tours of the alpine garden on the Schachen may also be arranged. A surcharge of 2 Euro per person will be charged (minimum of 5 people; prior booking required).
Audio tours
Mobile audio equipment is available for individual audio tours (in English or German) of the glasshouse complex featuring over 60 marked locations. The rental fee for these handy electronic guides is 3 Euro regular and 2.50 Euro concessions, payable in addition to the admission charge.
